 Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub of the United States is an actress as well as a comedian and activist. After emigrating to America she was born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents. Her first professional work was as a child actor. The appearances she made as Lily Adams in AT&T TV commercials from 2013 until 2016 - and now since 2020 - made her famous. She also was a regular series regular on Yahoo! Screen science-fiction comedy Other Space (2015). She was also an actor on the NBC drama This Is Us 2016-2017. Vayntrub has also been voiced as Squirrel Girl on the Marvel Rising franchise since 2018 after being cast as the character in the unaired television pilot of New Warriors. Vayntrub was Jewish, born in Tashkent, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic. At two years of age, she and her parents immigrated to the U.S. as refugees to avoid antisemitism and settled in West Hollywood. Her family's financial difficulties led to her acting in Mattel Barbie commercials from the age of 5. Vayntrub briefly was a student at Beverly Hills High School. However, she quit school after her sophomore years. She obtained an GED and later went on to get an undergraduate degree in Arts (Communication) from University of California San Diego. She studied improv with the Upright Citizens Brigade.
